Come see my presentation tomorrow! :)
Just put the finishing touches on my poster board for tomorow morning's presentation! It was fun to do this kind of project at the end of the semester rather than a paper (I feel like all off my friends were complaining about ten and twelve page paper's they had to write.. GROSS). Although I had fun with this, it made me realize yet again that I like artistic ability. Anyway, come to Stewart Center room 306 at 8:30 tomorrow morning to check out my presentation!

Not my Last BLOG!
So after realizing that this needed to be my last blog, I did not know what to write. Then I decided that although this is my last graded blog for the class, I am going to continue blogging on my own. It really enjoyable to be able to express your feelings on a regular basis for others to read. I know I have been blogging about movies, but I just watched Julie and Julia the other night (Movie about Julia Child and a young women who cooks her way through Julia's cook book and blogs about each recipe) and it made me want to have a blog with a little more direction. I know this blog is supposed to be more or less about technology but for my next blog I would like write about something of my choice like movies or cooking of books. Anyway, I have enjoyed exploring the world of blogging! Thanks COM 435!

Hey everyone, check out the Sixth Sense. Not the movie! It is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use hand gestures to interact with that information. It looks extremely cool. I actually think someone did their poster presentation on it. Anyways, take a look at it!

Presentation Day 1
Today the first group presented their poster boards while the group I was in tweeted. To my surprise, it went really really well. I was able to use my blackberry to tweet about various projects that I enjoyed and with in a few seconds I was able to see my tweet appear on Twitter-which was on a big screen in the presentation room. I thought all the posters where well done. I really enjoyed how some people did not use a poster board at all but they just had individual pieces of information pinned to stand. All in all I was a cool project and now I better start working on my presentation for Friday!!

Surrogates
I watched a really interesting movie last night called Surrogates, with Bruce Willis. I knew what the movie was about before I watched but not fully. Now, after seeing it, I wish I would have watched it before handing in our Com 435 paper on Cyborgs. Some of the main concepts from the movie are exactly what we were supposed to analyze in our paper. Actually, in the beginning of the movie before the plot started they were talking about technology advancements and mentioned something that i had read in Naam's reading about a monkey who ended up totally controlling an electronic arm. The movie was a world in the future in which "surrogates" exist and each person had a surrogate. These surrogates are simply robots that have been created to look human. People live through their surrogates. They remain at home hooked up to a machine in which they are able to see and feel everything they surrogate does. A human can choose to create his or her cyborg to look like anyone they want. I wont give the movie away but obviously in a world where humans don't leave their homes and only surrogates are out, trouble will arise and it does in the movie.

Poster Boards
It is funny to think back to the last time I made a posterboard for a class. I have to go back to junior high actually, the 8th grade science fair! Im going to be a little rusty. Also, my creative juices have no been flowing latley. Going to have to do some research on how to make my poster stand out!

Technology Poster Board
I have been reading the MIT Technology Review e-mails on a regular basis in hopes of finding a great new technology that i find important enough to create a poster board on. So far, no such luck. There have been many interesting topics but unfortunately, the ones i find interesting i do not feel that i totally understand them. (not enough to create a poster board for them). Going to keep looking. Wish me luck! If anyone has ant good ideas let me know!
